Hey folks, how’s everything? Probably noticed a little pause in updates. Yep. Part of our team including myself enjoyed a vacation. Really helps to regroup and gather some fresh ideas before facing next huge milestone. Works awesomely well, highly recommend it!
So what’s happening with UW2 right now? Well it’s going great, actually: we’re totally on track with developing a playable prototype with all the core new features (yet to be revealed!). The prototype should be ready by the end of the month and that’s when we start playtesting it internally with bots and everything.
While we’re writing the code, drawing screenflows and detailing features, here is a nice piece of game artwork to set the mood! See ya next week and as always we’re eager to hear your thoughts and comments.
Like Apollo &others, I’ve been around since the start of the original game & can’t wait4 the new one. While here I would like2say that I’ve purchased the Delivery jobs level 1 bit when I try2 go2 it the game freezes up? Anyway I’ve been2the top& when I got back n2 the game decided 2start ova &help (stimulate) others that were new but myself can’t get the delivery page2 open up… Over all great job Audrey &crew. Like king james n the championship, I’m awaiting the release of the new game to b part of history. Mill1ion
Indeed, Delivery Jobs in UW1 is a real pain in the ass. They aren’t not working because the game is not fully compatible with iOS5. Unfortunately, to fix that we would have to rewrite and debug a huge part of code, which would delay the sequel greatly.
During the devopment of UW2 we will see if it’s possible to squeeze in the fixes into the schedule; hopefully that happens sooner than later. Sorry for inconvenience, guys!
So excited for uw2, I loved the first. Will you be adding some new features based on the suggestions people gave in uw2? If so is it a good idea to go back to the suggestions area n uw2 and suggest features or is it too late in the development of uw2?
Hello I have been a huge fan, my favorite iOS app since 2008. I followed you all along this process and I hated that Apple took away the good graphics and name as the reason I found the app back in 2008 was from me actually searching for a Dope Wars game for the iphone back then. You delivered one of the most advanced apps for the time period though, and it is awesome!
I can’;t wait to see what you come up with next for v.2 and I think you should set up a mailing list with something like MailChimp it’s free for up to 2,000 subscribers so you could post updates to. Anyways keep up the good work
Hey JasonDavis, thanks for being a loyal fan! The whole team hates me already for not posting anything on the course of development of UW2, so I’m really trying to find the time and post something soon
Re:Mailchimp - you are totally right. In fact, we’ve already set up the account in Mailchimp some time ago. As soon as we figure our the end of the year’s rush, we’ll start posting there too!
I would LOVE to take a spot in the beta testing of this game. Also, I haven’t seen any real updates since last year so that would be great as well. I am a loyal fan of this game but unfortunately I live in Alaska and the current population of people that play this game here is extremely low so I can only sell maybe once a day. It’s that bad… I have a friend that has an old iPhone 3G and she is able to do deliveries which has given her an advantage that is so large she has been WAY ahead of me and I started playing almost half a year before her. So a simple update to the current game that allows my iPhone 5 to have the option of deliveries would be amazing! PLEASE update all of this.
Two other prototypes were reportedly also shown, one with a ‘rollout’ display panel and one with a folding ‘clamshell’ design, though of course unlike existing clamshells this one allowed the display to fold in on itself.
