For those of you, who waited impatiently for the game to arrive, we have terrific news! First release of the Underworld (which you probably know as DrugLords) finally goes public: today it was sent to the AppStore and waits for approval.
As we promised before, it’s going to be free and available for all generations of the iPhone and iPod Touch, although for last one you gonna need Wi-Fi to play.
Since the game was last reviewed by Olly at PocketGamer we made an effort to improve both game visuals and functionality. So now we’re really looking forward for all of you to check it out and give us a load of feedback

Thing is, you will get shedloads of advertisement for this game free of charge by the tabloids so if i was you i would release it for sale on your site to jailbroken phones.
Add PayPal as a payment option and away you go. Sure it will find itself on a lot of websites free of charge but the amount of sales you get would combat that i am sure.

So SimCity has just gone live on the AppStore. They submitted their app on Monday evening - just 3 days ago. Being a gaming giant im sure EA has special treatment in the approval process. But I know of no other game that has waited as long as Underworld!
Average times are longer than usual at the moment (around 4 days for an update and 7 days for a new app) but underworld has been in the process for over 20 days - is there something you are not telling us?

I am anxiously awaiting this also and I’m a little peeved, not at a-steroids, but at the AppStore. They have made a new Category…NSFW (not yet implemented into iTunes yet) but when I check out new app releases on forums they have all these apps such as FartBox, Whoopie Cushion, ect. You would think they would take a break on releases those type apps and give Underworld a go. Its aggravating and hopefully it will be out soon. All we can do is hope.

AppStore review team is going to be unavailable during Christmas (24-27), so I’m afraid we wont make it till then already (

Personally I hope you stick with the app store route. Since that’s where a majority of users are and this game will be better with the largest number of participants possible. And there is no way im jailbreaking my iPhone even for a game this awesome.

It would be better to stick it on Cydia. Before firmware 2.0 we had dopewars and the developer never ported it or confirmed he would port it so we are like crack fiends!! If do it through Cydia, go through Modmyi they are quicker for getting the stuff out.

I’ve been waiting and checking this site (and the appstore) regularly since Andrey first submitted ‘Underworld’ to Apple for approval.
The concept of buying and selling commodities “locally” is very cool and I trust that Andrey’s implementation for the iPhone 3g (equipped with a GPS) will be worth the wait.
However I need Apple to release Underworld officially… as I have no intention of jail breaking my iPhone to install it. And yes, I do believe they will eventually.

This is starting to sound like vaporware. At least the demo video were pretty well done so I do have hope that the software exists for real !
Release it on Cydia and if it gets approved in the appstore, stop updating the Cydia version.

Or alternatively, rename it to something totally unrelated to drugs and make it about dealing something totally legal, then give us a cheat code to turn Drug mode on!
Also, isn’t there an amount of copies that can be given out without going through iTunes? Perhaps you should distribute some of these to other review sites to get the hype up a bit…

This should def. be published on cydia its been forever and no release on apple. Atleast if its on cydia it will be getting played, then if apple approves it which is very doubtful, remove it from cydia.
If its about money, make a donation required for the repo or to be sent the software for the game.

Guys, these people MUST have had a reply about this already and are trying to deal with what apple rejected it for.
Good PR is to let the public know whats going on but for some reason the truth is being kept back. Ill just wait until it springs up somewhere now and im not going to bother registering any more interest in it.
I am however going to follow Prohibition 2. Maybe there isnt even an underworld?!? Who knows…

A situation with Underworld is kinda similar to what happens to Prohibition - we have also “sweetened” the content before the submission. So now we are going to watch very closely how the situation will develop and make conclusions.

In response to Stevie’s above post.
From the recent release of safari alternatives (actually browser skins) via the appstore and their submission dates (see the recent Macrumors article) it would appear that apple — in some cases — approves an app but sits on it for a long period waiting for policy clearance.
Perhaps this is the case with Underworld?
No need to accuse the developer of not telling the truth…

Prohibition now in the store after changing the content to candy…. tempted to just get that now instead, but would of course rather have Underworld.
Can’t you do what they did and change the content to candy? We will all know what the game is really about, and it’s guaranteed to be accepted by apple as prohibition has been.

Just a thought: I guess you are going to have to follow Prohibition 3 (which by the way has an incredibly ugly ui in comparison to Underworld)and be selling items not named as drugs.
I think Candy is a good idea (but used by prohibition 3), so plants maybe?
Anyone else have any ideas?

Just a question, all of those NPC’s around me. How do i know which NPC’s buy what and how often do they buy stuff? Are they influenced by what price you put on the product? And why are some products (speed and niagra) always selling while others (peyote) never selling. Thanks for the help

Some are active, some aren’t. Some prefer to be risky and buy even the pricey stuff, some are trying to find a better deal. Anyway, they are still not the smartest thing in the world, so we are working on it too

I have been playing for 4 days now. And it has yet to take any money from me to pay back my loan. It would be nice if you could add a feature to pay back early if we have the money. I have enough to pay my whole loan but can’t. I don’t want to spend it and not have it there if it finally does take it out.

Agree. If the IRS has placed a tax lien on you, it will seriously affect your credit standing and will either render sale of property difficult or impossible. Removing a tax lien should be a huge priority for you, as you’re no doubt well aware.
